What is the Primary Years Programme (PYP)?

The PYP is a globally recognized educational framework designed to develop curious, compassionate, and internationally minded learners. It serves students from preschool through fifth grade and provides them with a strong foundation rooted in global awareness, inquiry, and meaningful learning experiences.

This program is built on research about how children learn best and how their brains develop. It offers flexibility in what we teach, helping us meet school standards while promoting deep understanding. The PYP also connects Whittier to a broader network of schools and communities around the world, enriching our students’ learning journey.
